It started with a rumor.
You fiddle with your pen, unconsciously twisting it between your fingers in rapid movements before setting it down, picking it up, and resuming again. You brows furrow slightly in concentration as your eyes constantly trail to and fro, ensuring that the figure in front of you is always in your field of vision. Your ears continue to pick up the low frequency sound waves, attempting to process the information as the professor proceed to drone on and on about the philosophy of life and death. Then you sigh as you look down towards your notebook and scrawl another note b

It's cold.
Her fingers are numb. There is a fine layer of frost in her eyelashes and with every blink, her eyes sting sharply.
Where am I?
It's so cold. All she wants to do is stop walking and lay down, curl up into a ball and close her eyes. Anything to stop the biting chill that was seeping into her bones like water through a sieve.
I don't know why I'm here.
The girl stumbles over something then - perhaps the root of a tree long since buried beneath the snow, her foot catching on it easily. It sends her tumbling down to the powdery yet solid ground, rolling downwards until her body makes contact with something hard and she halts abrup

“Wait, Irina!” Russia called, following the secretary as she threw open the double doors and stormed out into the cold. “Let’s talk about thi– Irina please don’t quit! Come on, I’ll give you a raise!”
She never stopped to explain, never turned to look at him, didn’t even hesitate to quit her job – just left Russia in a state of complete disarray, his office messy and unmanageable without her, and not even a word of warning beforehand.
So that was it.
His secretary had just walked out on him… again.
The twentieth one.
He brought a hand up to his forehead and massaged it ro

This story is a follow up from the story of the 50 themes challenge, number 15: Lost.
Ivan was kneeling on the floor, leaning on the side of the bed. One elbow sitting on the mattress with his head leaning on his fist, his other hand holding a thermometer. He casually looked at the object with his usual cool composure – however on the inside he was really agitated; the number was way too high than normal.
He then moved his gaze from the device to the girl, who was breathing heavily, lying in bed. He reached out a hand and gently stroked her forehead – which was burning, moving strands of hair away from her face.

A loud beeping sound filled your ears and you groaned in protest. You cracked open one eye and tried to turn around to glare at the alarm clock on your side, however, a tight grip around your waist tightened even more as Ivan made a noise of discontentment.
"Turn off the alarm clock подсолнечник, before I break it." Your Russian husband said, nuzzling his large nose on your head.
"I can't. You're holding me too tightly." You muttered in return. Ivan sighed and one arm disappeared as he reached for something under his pillow. He pulled out his pipe and reache

It is absolutely freezing.
On your way home, you were not expecting a sudden freak snowstorm to drop pretty much on top of you. You hunch into your jacket, wanting to break out into a run to close the distance between you and your lovely warm house, but you don't for fear of slipping and falling on your butt, because that's just the last thing that you need. Your jacket is doing little to provide you with adequate protection from the biting chill. You really have to stop being so optimistic just because you've started seeing the slow emergence of spring flowers- it's still technically winter, and it seems like Mother Nature is only too willi

You were a very happy princess. You were happy when you were with your family. You were happy with your friends. You were happy in general. But you never smiled. It was unnerving to most. The only people who could put up with your condition, it seemed, were your friend and personal maid Irina, your late mother, and your father, and even your father was starting to be worried about you. It was unnatural for a girl to never have smiled in her life for eighteen years.
“I think I’m beginning to worry, father,” you admitted to Irina, “I just don’t know how to smile, but I feel happy. I’m always happy.” Yo

Russia x Reader: Father Frost
You hated your stepmother. You hated her to the point that if anything happened to her, you doubted you could even pretend to care. The same went for her daughter – your stepsister. How could your sweet, loving father have married such a witch? It had to be for beauty. There was no doubt that your stepmother was a very beautiful woman and her daughter was pretty as well. But what did it matter if someone could look like an angel and behave like a devil?
The feeling was mutual by the way. Every day you grew more beautiful and, despite your hatred, more virtuous. You were kind to all and respected everyone (unless they didn’t deser
